Brooke Hoppstock-Mattson
Ph.D. Candidate
Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences
Faculty of Science
Brooke has a BA in geology and environmental science from Hope College, Michigan (2018). She worked for the State of Kentucky as an environmental remediation geologist and previously worked with metal isotopic systems at Oregon State University. In 2020, she joined Dr. Dominique Weis, Dr. Evgeny Pakhomov, and the group at the Pacific Centre for Isotopic and Geochemical Research (PCIGR) as an International Doctoral Fellow. Brooke’s multifaceted project is being developed to better understand the geochemical threshold of environmental bioindicators, such as honeybees and Pacific salmon, through the use of trace elements and isotopic compositions.
